Jérôme Cormier met in the early 2000s his master in dhrupad singing, Ustad H. Sayeeduddin Dagar (1939-2017), last exponent of the illustrious 19th generation of the Dagarvani school.
He assiduously followed his teaching during 12 years. Now traveling in Europe and India to promote the art of dhrupad, he continues to improve his style under the guidance of his nephew Ustad F. Wasifuddin Dagar.
Since 2006 Jérôme Cormier has performed in concerts, beside his master Ustad H. Sayeeduddin Dagar and in a soloist carrier. In 2008 during a first concert in Banaras, India, at the 34th Dhrupad Mela he was honoured with a gold medal. Followed numerous recitals in Europe and India.
He teaches since 2009 in private lessons, workshops and seminars, continuing to explore and think of new perspectives of transmission, in France and internationally.
